Crossing is privileged to be a part of the United Christian Communion (UCC).We seek to fulfill the mission of Christ of global evangelism while planting and strengthening churches, training pastors and providing resources for the church.
The United Christian Communion uses Convergence to renew, replenish and unify God’s people into one heart and purpose in Christ. Convergence seeks to blend the essential elements of Christian faith represented historically in three major streams of thought and practice: Apostolic, Evangelical and Charismatic. By Apostolic we do not mean denominationally but the original teachings of the apostles. Evangelical by reflecting fidelity to Scripture. Charismatic in that we embrace the Spirit-filled life and the graces and gifts of the Spirit. Our objective is not to dilute the identity of churches within the Communion, but to promote a balanced flow of convergence in each local church to enhance their ability to make the Kingdom of God visible, and expand their reach in missions. Our goal is to foster and maintain a balance of the three streams:
Convergence is not new a reformation it is reclamation of the godly heritage that always existed throughout the ages of the church but has been lost through ecclesiastical ramblings. Each new generation within the church has challenged the teachings and traditions of the previous generations. While this is a necessary step in preserving apostolic doctrine often assertions were made causing zealous individuals to disconnect with anything connected to abhorrent teachings. In order to rid the church of man made assumptions and traditions entire veins of church heritage were removed throwing out some truth in order to rid them of all lies. Convergence explores the rich heritage of the major church reformations and distinguishes healthy practice from detrimental rituals.
The UCC seeks to unite the church by introducing historic Christian practice as a catalyst to revitalize the worship life within the church. Drawing on the waters of salvation flowing through each stream of Christ centered time tested practice of the Apostolic, Reformed and Charismatic traditions, we illuminate the both the presence and the work of Christ throughout the ages of the church. We endeavor to create a complete picture of Christian living and church practice by demonstrating how each stream together becomes a river flowing with life into the local congregation.
The UCC does not endeavor to change current church practice just to enhance them. We offer that which is helpful and healthy for independent congregations to incorporate. The practices that the angel of that house deems both fit and needful to the congregants can invigorate growth spiritually and numerically. This is an undertaking to see transformation within the church bringing it from the faithful few into a united many.
