The purpose statement is a guideline composed of Biblical principles that will help us become what God has ordain as his Church. Here at Crossing Ministries we recognize that vision is only accomplished by operating in purpose.
Crossing Ministry is used by God in accomplishing His purposes in the lives of individual believers. Romans 8:28-29 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew He predestined to be conformed into the image of His Son that he might be the firstborn among many brethren”.
God uses all things (Including Crossing) so that the believer might be formed into the image of Christ. The result of our Salvation 1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He (Jesus Christ) is revealed we shall be like Him for we will see Him as He is”.
In our serving God Crossing Ministry joins in agreement with Paul’s statement in Galatians 4:19 “my little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you”.
Crossings exists to equip, train, model and teach believers how to conform to the Image of Christ Luke 6:40 “a student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will become like his teacher”. Those who are fully trained will be like or conformed to the image of Jesus Christ in the 5 Major Areas of His Life.
This is our Purpose: “Conforming to the Image of Christ”
Conform to His Image in Purpose
Jesus came to seek and save the Lost (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is not only commission (Matthew 28:18-20) it is the life blood that drives and motivates our lives as Christians. For Jesus evangelism wasn’t a choice it was a lifestyle.
Conform to His Image in Person
Jesus did everything from a heart of love and compassion (Matthew 10:36, John 15:9). The bible says God is love and everyone who knows God loves (1 John 4:7-8). A Christian without love is devoid of the love that the Holy Spirit gives us (Romans 5:5, 1 Corinthians 13:2)
Conform to His Image in Presence
Jesus walked in the authority of God wherever he traveled (Mark 1:22, 27, Mark 2:10, Matthew 4:10). Jesus stood boldly on Gods Word and who He was in God. Jesus wants us to walk in the same faith and authority He did. In His name we can walk as boldly in this world as He did (John 14:12-13, Luke 9:1, Mark 16:17-19).
Conform to His Image in Practice
Jesus always took time to cultivate His personal relationship with the Father. Through practice of the Spiritual Disciplines – Praise and Worship (Matthew 4:10, John 4:22, 8:49), Prayer and Fasting Luke 4:2, 6:12), Solitude and Meditation (John 6:15), Submission and Service (John 8:29, 14:28) Jesus maintained a close fellowship with the Father.
Conform to His Image in Power
Jesus performed many miracles in the through the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:14, 4:18, Acts 2:22). Through the Holy Spirit we have access to the same power that Jesus used Himself for Ministry (1 Corinthian 12: 4-11, Romans 12:6-8)
